Notes

'Blue Ridge' phlox (Phlox stolonifera 'Blue Ridge') is a perennial for ground cover, shade gardens, woodland edges, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. It forms a fragrant clump that grows quickly and tolerates drought. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit the flowers in spring.

Pairs well with Foam flower, Christmas fern, Japanese forest grass, and Oakleaf hydrangea.
