Notes

'Shiro-kapitan' silky wisteria (Wisteria brachybotrys 'Shiro-kapitan') is a vine for borders and naturalized areas. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. It sits low on the menu for deer. White flowers open in early to late spring and again in early to late summer. The blooms are fragrant and attract butterflies.

Pairs well with Japanese forest grass, Karl Foerster feather reed grass, and Ostrich fern.
