Notes

'Showa-beni' silky wisteria (Wisteria brachybotrys 'Showa-beni') is a vine for borders. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. It blooms in spring and again in summer, and butterflies visit the fragrant flowers. It sits low on the menu for deer. Give it strong support because it grows tall.

Pairs well with Clematis, Mock orange, and Casa Blanca lily.
