Notes

'Shojo' Japanese pieris (Pieris japonica 'Shojo') is a shrub for borders, specimen planting, and foundation beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil. It grows slowly into a dense evergreen mound with fragrant pink flowers in early to late spring. Deer rarely make it their first choice. Plan for a mature size of 3 to 6 feet tall and wide.

Pairs well with Korean spice viburnum, Queen of Night tulip, and Halcyon hosta.
