Notes

'Siegrune' peony (Paeonia 'Siegrune') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Its cupped, single, creamy yellow flowers bloom early in the season, and bees and butterflies visit them. Michael Miely bred it in 2004.

Pairs well with Fire Island hosta, Standing Ovation little bluestem, Polish Spirit clematis, and Carlton daffodil.
