Notes

Signet marigold (Tagetes tenuifolia) is an annual for borders, containers, and low maintenance beds. It is not cold-hardy and will not survive freezing temperatures. This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. The dense, fragrant plants stay about 12 inches tall and wide, and yellow, orange, and red flowers draw butterflies and bees. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Drought tolerance makes it easy to grow.

Pairs well with Zinnia, Snapdragon, First Knight fountain grass, and Nasturtium.

Native range

Mexico, Central America, Columbia, and Peru.
