Notes

'Silent Hope' peony (Paeonia 'Silent Hope') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Dark red blooms with yellow highlights and darker flares open in early to late spring. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Butterflies visit the flowers, and Derek Irvine introduced it in 2001.

Pairs well with Blue fescue, Lily, and Flowering quince.
