Notes
'Silhouette' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Silhouette') is a shrub for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The fragrant lilac-pink flowers have dark red flares and open in early summer. Each stem holds one bud and has good stem strength. John and Dot McFarlane introduced it in 2001.
Pairs well with Astilbe, Queen of Night tulip, and Niobe clematis.
