Notes

Silver lupine (Lupinus albifrons) is a perennial for borders and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun and dry, sandy or loamy soil. Its silky-silver leaves cover a shrub-like form, and three inch spikes of blue to magenta flowers bloom in spring and summer. It sits low on the menu for deer.

Pairs well with California poppy and Common woolly sunflower.
