Notes

'Sioux' peony (Paeonia 'Sioux') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It forms a dense, wide bush and bears large, fragrant purple-red blooms that attract butterflies and bees. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. William Henry Krekler bred it.

Pairs well with Hosta, Sensation lilac, Blonde Ambition blue grama, and Cheerfulness daffodil.
