Notes

'Sir Peter Smithers' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Sir Peter Smithers') is a shrub for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Large buds open in early to mid spring to huge pink flowers with white edges and purple flares. The blooms stand well above the leaves on strong stems. Michel Rivière bred it in 1998.

Pairs well with The President clematis, Blue fescue, and Cinnamon fern.
