Notes

'Sizzler' peony (Paeonia 'Sizzler') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It bears large, single, fragrant red flowers on tall plants, and butterflies and bees visit the blooms. William Henry Krekler bred it. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first.

Pairs well with Sum and Substance hosta, Prairie dropseed, Picture tulip, and Baby's breath.
