Notes

Slash pine (Pinus elliottii) is a tree for specimen planting, privacy screens, and low maintenance landscapes. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows fast and keeps dark green needles all year. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Seeds feed wild turkeys and squirrels.

Pairs well with Live oak, Red maple, Sweet gum, and Weeping yaupon holly.
