Notes
'A.M. Slocum' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'A.M. Slocum') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its large, double flowers open pale rose-pink in late spring and show a ring of stamens. The plant stays dwarf, and its wiry stems carry many blooms. Young plants make ragged flowers, so give them time to settle in.
Pairs well with Stained Glass hosta, Japanese spirea, Grape hyacinth, and Switchgrass.
