Notes
'Smnwfms' weigela (Weigela Florida 'Smnwfms') is a shrub for borders, pollinator gardens, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Dark pink flowers open in early to late spring and again in early to late summer. Butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit the blooms. The arching shrub grows 12 to 18 inches tall and 24 to 30 inches wide. Deer tend to pass it by.
Pairs well with Kansas peony, Stargazer lily, and Christmas fern.
