Notes

'SMTOBM3' American arborvitae (Thuja occidentalis 'SMTOBM3') is an evergreen shrub for privacy screens, hedges, specimen planting, and foundation beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, loamy or clay soil. It grows slowly and keeps a dense, fragrant form that birds visit. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Give it room to fill in.

Pairs well with Limeglow creeping juniper, PowWow White coneflower, and Western sword fern.
