Notes
'Sonett' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Sonett') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It grows up to 51 inches tall in an upright, spreading form. Fragrant, salmon-pink semi-double flowers with black flares open in early to mid spring. Irmtraud Rieck bred it, and it is a healthy, vigorous plant.
Pairs well with Inkberry, Blue fescue, Cinnamon fern, and The President clematis.
