Notes
'Spring Sun' peony (Paeonia 'Spring Sun') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average moisture. Don Hollingsworth bred it, and its fully double yellow flowers open lighter in sunlight. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Sturdy stems keep the plant upright and looking good all season.
Pairs well with Rainforest Sunrise hosta, Standing Ovation little bluestem, Black Hero tulip, and Limelight hydrangea.
