Notes

Star of bethlehem (Ornithogalum arabicum) is a bulb for borders, containers, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. White star-like flowers with glossy black centers open on tall stems and have a sweet fragrance. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Give it good drainage, or grow it in pots you can protect during a hard freeze.

Pairs well with Gerbera daisy, Snapdragon, Fountain grass, and Red Lion amaryllis.
