Notes

Star of bethlehem (Ornithogalum dubium) is a bulb for container planting and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to average, sandy or loamy soil. Bright tangerine orange flowers open in rounded heads in spring. Give the bulbs a dry resting period after growth. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by.

Pairs well with Blanket flower, Rock rose, Woolly yarrow, and Greig's tulip.
