Notes

Star of bethlehem (Ornithogalum magnum) is a bulb for borders, containers, and naturalized areas. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. It bears white flowers in early to late spring and again in early to late summer. It grows 12 to 24 inches tall and wide, so it needs little care. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Ornamental onion, Lemon thyme, and Karl Foerster feather reed grass.
