Notes

'Starbust' carnation (Dianthus 'Starbust') is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, rock gardens, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average soil of most types. It blooms in spring and again in summer, and the fragrant flowers attract butterflies and bees. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. The leaves stay evergreen all year.

Pairs well with Coneflower, Tussock bellflower, and Lavender.
