Notes
Strangler fig (Ficus aurea) is a tree for shade, screening, and large landscapes. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 10 and warmer, down to about 30°F (-1°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes full sun to full shade and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It is evergreen, tolerates drought and salt, and attracts butterflies. Give it plenty of room, since it can reach 40 to 60 feet tall.
Pairs well with Red mulberry, Island marlberry, and Scarlet bush.
