Notes

'Strasbourg' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Strasbourg') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Max Josef Goos bred it. It blooms in mid to late spring with huge, double, pale old-rose or lavender-pink flowers that have yellow stamens in the center. The stems are strong, so the tall plant holds up its big blooms well.

Pairs well with Nepeta, Blonde Ambition blue grama, Solomon's seal, and Miss Kim lilac.
