Notes

'Sultry Mood' peony (Paeonia 'Sultry Mood') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Large, fragrant, double pink flowers open in early to late spring and attract butterflies. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. John and Dot McFarlane introduced it in 2000.

Pairs well with Greig's tulip, Royal Purple smoketree, and Joe-pyeweed.
