Notes

'Summer Gold' Chinese dogwood (Cornus kousa 'Summer Gold') is a shrub for borders, pollinator gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. White flowers open in spring, and red, strawberry-like fruits attract birds in late summer and fall. Deer rarely make it their first choice. It grows slowly with a pleasing upright habit.

Pairs well with Lady's mantle, Siebold's hosta, and Pale yellow-eyed grass.
