Notes

'Sun-up' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Sun-up') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It bears dark red single blooms in late spring, rather late for a peony. The color holds well, and the plant and stems stay strong. Edward Auten, Jr bred it.

Pairs well with Sedge, Grape hyacinth, and Incrediball hydrangea.
