Notes

'Sun Valley' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Sun Valley') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Edward Auten, Jr. bred it in 1956. The creamy pink Japanese type flowers have a yellow center and open at mid season. Stiff, slender stems hold the blooms up well.

Pairs well with Curly Fries hosta, Indian Summer rudbeckia, Sedge, and Grape hyacinth.
