Notes

'Sunbeam' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Sunbeam') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It grows as a medium, upright clump and blooms from mid to late spring into early summer. The flowers are fragrant and have a Japanese form with a yellow center. Peter Barr bred it, and The Chugai Nursery introduced it in 1940.

Pairs well with Incrediball hydrangea, Sedge, and Grape hyacinth.
