Notes

'Sunburst' peony (Paeonia 'Sunburst') is a shrub for borders, specimen plantings, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. The fragrant, butter yellow flowers have a raspberry wine flare and open in spring, and butterflies visit them. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. John W. and Dot M. McFarlane bred it.

Pairs well with Elegans hosta, Jeana garden phlox, Weigela, and Greig's tulip.
