Notes

'Chocolate Cherry Sunflower' sunflower (Helianthus annuus 'Chocolate Cherry Sunflower') is an annual for borders, cut flowers, and containers. Frost will kill it, so set it out only after the last frost in spring. This plant likes full sun and dry to moist soil of most types. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. It blooms from early to late summer and grows 72 to 84 inches tall. Butterflies, bees, and birds visit the flowers.

Pairs well with First Knight fountain grass, Profusion Double Deep Salmon zinnia, and Celosia.
