Notes

'Sunset' apple (Malus domestica 'Sunset') is a tree for the food garden, grown for fresh eating and juice. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It is self-fertile, so you can grow it without a pollination partner. The fruit tends to be small, but you can thin the fruitlets in May and June to fix that.

Pairs well with Flowering quince, Garlic chives, and Black Parrot tulip.
