Notes

'Superstition' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Superstition') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The fragrant flowers are wine red with cream shading and deeper flares. John and Dot McFarlane bred it, and it grows into a strong plant with dark green foliage.

Pairs well with Japanese spirea, Monkshood, and Ostrich fern.
