Notes
Swamp sunflower (Helianthus angustifolius) is a perennial for pollinator gardens, meadows, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. It blooms yellow in summer and again in autumn. Butterflies, bees, and birds visit the flowers.
Pairs well with Swamp milkweed, Switchgrass, New York ironweed, and Aromatic aster.
