Notes
'Swayzie' apple (Malus domestica 'Swayzie') is a tree for the food garden. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It blooms from early to late spring, and bees visit the flowers. Its dense habit and moderate growth rate make it easy to shape. A Pomme Gris type apple, it was introduced in 1872.
Pairs well with Anise hyssop, Johnny jump up, and Ostrich fern.
