Notes

Table mountain pine (Pinus pungens) is an evergreen tree for low maintenance landscapes. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to moist, sandy or loamy soil. The stout, horizontal branches give the crown a look like a giant bonsai. Large spiny cones stay on the limbs for several years. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal.

Pairs well with Eastern white pine, Sourwood, Mountain laurel, and Red cedar.
