Notes

'Táo Rán' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Táo Rán') is a shrub for borders and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its double, purplish pink flowers are fragrant and face up. Each bloom sits alone on a stem and has dark purple flares near the center. Yan Zhenguo named it, and it grows about 53 inches (135 cm) tall.

Pairs well with Rainforest Sunrise hosta, Korean spice viburnum, Blue fescue, and Carnaval De Nice tulip.
