Notes

'Tarantella' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Tarantella') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It grows upright and spreading to about 39 inches tall. Fragrant, semi-double, lilac-pink to deep pink flowers with white centers and black flares open in early to mid spring. Irmtraud Rieck bred it.

Pairs well with Japanese spirea, Pink Impression tulip, Ostrich fern, and Monkshood.
