Notes

'Techny' American arborvitae (Thuja occidentalis 'Techny') is a tree for hedges, privacy screens, specimen planting, and foundation beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 2, or down to -50°F (-46°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. It grows slowly into a dense, fragrant evergreen that reaches 10 to 15 feet tall. Birds visit it, and it adds green color to the winter garden. Deer tend to browse other plants first.

Pairs well with Globosa Colorado spruce, Rock soapwort, and Red fescue.
