Notes

'Temple of Augustus' peony (Paeonia 'Temple of Augustus') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Early double flowers open lime green and yellow, then fade to warm yellow, with a slight citrus scent. The upright plants need no support, and Joshua Scholten bred it. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Perennial candytuft, Smooth hydrangea, Blue grama, and Black Hero tulip.
