Notes

'The Mackinac Grand' peony (Paeonia 'The Mackinac Grand') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average moisture. The fragrant red blooms shade to orange-red and attract bees and butterflies. David Reath bred it in 1992. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits.

Pairs well with August Moon hosta, Clustered bellflower, and Blue grama.
