Notes
'Theatrical' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Theatrical') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The semi-double, deep rose magenta blooms are fragrant and open in mid to late spring and early summer. Each stem carries 2 to 3 buds and has good stem strength. William Henry Krekler bred it.
Pairs well with Smooth hydrangea, Sedge, and Grape hyacinth.
