Notes

'Thelma' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Thelma') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The single light pink blooms open in early to mid spring and measure 8 to 9 inches across. Thick petals make the flowers last a long time, so they work well in a vase. Ernest Flint Kelsey bred it.

Pairs well with Spanish bluebell, Sedge, and Japanese spirea.
