Notes

Thickleaf phlox (Phlox Carolina) is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, cottage gardens, and woodland edges. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. The lavender to pink flowers open in loose clusters and keep coming off and on until frost. Butterflies and hummingbirds visit them. It resists powdery mildew and self-sows without being aggressive.

Pairs well with Blue wild indigo, Little bluestem, and Blue-eyed grass.
