'Toto' black-eyed Susan (Rudbeckia hirta 'Toto') is an annual for borders, containers, cottage gardens, and pollinator gardens. This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It stays compact at 12 to 24 inches tall and grows fast. Butterflies, bees, and birds visit the blooms. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything.
Pairs well with Cosmos, Zinnia, and Montbretia.
