Notes

Two-needle pinyon pine (Pinus edulis) is a tree for specimen planting, rock gardens, and low maintenance spots. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows slowly and forms a gnarled evergreen with a compact, rounded crown. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. Birds visit the tree for its seeds.

Pairs well with Blue grama, Creeping juniper, and Amsonia.
