Notes

'Uncommon Thread' Japanese maple (Acer palmatum 'Uncommon Thread') is a small tree for specimen, accent, and woodland gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes average to moist soil. Deer rarely make it their first choice. It grows slowly and has a broad habit, so give it room to spread. Bees and birds visit it, and it is drought tolerant.

Pairs well with Woodland phlox, Japanese forest grass, and Smooth hydrangea.
