Notes

'Vaughn DeLeath' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Vaughn DeLeath') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. W. E. Lanigan bred it. The large double blooms open dark rose pink with a few red petals near the center and fade lighter with age. Strong stems hold the tall plant upright.

Pairs well with Big Daddy hosta, Ostrich fern, Picture tulip, and Lilac.
