Notes
'Victor Lemoine' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Victor Lemoine') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its double, ball-shaped mauve blooms show sheens of blue and hold stamens and pollen. Strong stems hold each flower above the foliage. Michel Rivière bred it in 1998.
Pairs well with New Jersey tea, Ostrich fern, Pink Impression tulip, and Tall fescue.
