Notes
'Violet Dawson' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Violet Dawson') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The fragrant Japanese style flowers open in early to mid spring over dark green foliage. Ivory guard petals surround a center with occasional petal tufts. Stems are strong and the plant grows about 30 in tall.
